Higgsfield vs Runway: choosing the right AI studio

Choose Higgsfield if you want the most videos per dollar across many models: on the Plus plan ($39 a month billed yearly) Higgsfield estimates about 44 Seedance 2.0 videos a month, under $1 each, and every model is included.

Choose Runway if you want Runway's own Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0 models, video-to-video editing, 4K upscaling from the Standard plan and a mature API. On Standard ($12 a month billed yearly) the 625 monthly credits cover about ten 5-second Gen-4.5 clips, so plan on Pro once you generate weekly.

Both allow commercial use of what you make on every plan; the free plans add watermarks.

Runway: Free gives 125 one-time credits. Standard is $12 a month billed yearly or $15 monthly for 625 credits a month; Pro is $28 yearly or $35 monthly for 2,250 credits; Max is $76 yearly or $95 monthly for 9,500 credits with a one-month rollover. Standard and Pro credits do not roll over, while purchased extra credits never expire.

Higgsfield: the free plan allows one job at a time on selected models. Starter is $15 a month (same price monthly or yearly) for 200 credits and selected models; Plus is $39 a month billed yearly or $49 monthly for 1,000 credits and every model; Ultra is $99 yearly or $129 monthly for 3,000 credits. A $3 one-time pass with 40 credits lets you test before subscribing. Prices exclude VAT.

Runway prices Gen-4.5 at 60 credits per 5 seconds. That makes about 10 clips a month on Standard (roughly $1.15 each on yearly billing), about 37 on Pro (about $0.75 each) and about 158 on Max (about $0.48 each).

Higgsfield's own estimates: Starter's 200 credits make about 11 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos (about $1.36 each), Plus about 44 Seedance 2.0 videos (about $0.89 each) and Ultra about 133 (about $0.74 each).

These are different models and clip settings, so compare them as a sense of scale. If one specific model matters, price that model on both platforms before you subscribe.

Runway's catalog includes its own Gen-4.5, Gen-4 and Aleph 2.0 plus Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Nano Banana Pro, Seed Audio and Lyria 3, all paid in the same credits. Pro adds custom voices for lip sync and text to speech, 500GB of storage and unlimited Topaz upscaling.

Higgsfield unlocks every model from Plus and adds 7-day unlimited windows on selected models such as Kling 3.0 and Nano Banana 2. Those unlimited perks apply only on higgsfield.ai, not through its MCP/CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer, and Higgsfield says speed can be throttled at peak times.

Runway's terms say it claims no ownership of your outputs and does not restrict their commercial use, on any plan. Free exports carry a watermark; watermark removal starts at Standard.

Higgsfield also says you own your outputs and commercial use is allowed on every plan, but its lower plans add watermarks that Higgsfield itself says may not suit commercial work, and content can be used for model training outside Enterprise.
