Quick answer
Genjutsu is Higgsfield's video-to-video tool for changing a video you already have. Motion Transfer keeps the original motion, camera and timing and rebuilds the scene from your references (a new character, location or product); Object Swap changes only what you name, such as a person, a product or on-screen text, and leaves the rest of the shot untouched. Reference videos can be 4 to 30 seconds, you can add up to 30 reference images, and runs use standard Higgsfield credits, with the cost shown before each generation. The viral Hotel Lobby rap-duo videos are made this way: a short performance clip goes into Motion Transfer, and two photos become the new left and right performers.

Worth evaluating when
- Creators who want to reuse one performance in several settings or outfits without reshooting
- Brands swapping products or on-screen text across versions of the same ad
- Short-form creators filming on a phone and adding the production look afterwards
Check before paying
- Higgsfield does not publish a fixed price per run; check the credit cost shown before you generate
- Reference videos must be 4 to 30 seconds
- Results depend on how clean the source footage and references are; test a short clip first
What Genjutsu does
Genjutsu transforms an existing video instead of generating one from scratch. You upload your clip and references, choose a mode, and describe what should change.
Higgsfield lists the jobs it is meant for: recasting characters, changing locations, introducing products or wardrobe, and replacing individual elements in a shot. It says no video editing experience is needed.
Motion Transfer vs Object Swap
Motion Transfer keeps the motion, camera and timing of your clip and rebuilds everything else from your references. Use it when the movement is right but the person, place or product should be different.
Object Swap lets you say what should be different, such as a person, a product or the text, while the rest of the shot stays as filmed. Use it for targeted changes, like replacing a product in an existing ad.
The Hotel Lobby trend
The Hotel Lobby videos that spread in September and October 2026 put two people, pets or characters into an orange studio booth around one hanging microphone, trading rap verses. The format copies Quavo and Takeoff's "Hotel Lobby" performance on A COLORS SHOW, which is why searches also say "Migos AI video".
Creators make them with Genjutsu's Motion Transfer: a short performance clip supplies the motion, camera and timing, and two reference photos, one per person, replace the performers. Clear, well-lit photos with the face and most of the body visible give the cleanest swap, and the source clip has to be 4 to 30 seconds.
Two cautions. Only use photos of people who agreed to it, and keep in mind that the original performance footage belongs to its rights holders: a parody for your own social feed is a different risk from using it in an ad or a monetized product.
Limits and what it costs
Reference videos can be 4 to 30 seconds long, and you can add up to 30 reference images for characters, products, wardrobe and other visual elements.
Generations use the standard Higgsfield credit system, and each run shows its credit cost before you generate. Credits come from your Higgsfield plan: Starter is $15 a month for 200 credits, Plus is $39 a month billed yearly ($49 monthly) for 1,000 credits, and Ultra is $99 a month billed yearly for 3,000 credits.
Because the per-run cost depends on your clip, start with a short source video to see the credit cost before running a full take.
